What do
you know about Halloween? Are you afraid of witches
vampires
or
ghosts ? Sara, a girl who is 8 years old doesn't like Halloween, because
she is afraid. What about
helping Sara to understand what Halloween really is, and learn more about ghosts, vampires,
witches, pumpkins, and black cats?
Are you ready?

You are going to write a letter to Sara, saying what you discovered about Halloween, vampires, witches, pumpkins, black cats, and what else you want to tell her. You have to convince her that she doesn't need to feel afraid of Halloween. Then, you also have to make a drawing to Sara.

1- First you need to research about Halloween visiting the sites suggested on the chart "History of Halloween" in the section "Resources".
2- Read the information from the sites carefully;
3- In your class, tell your friends and teacher, what you learned about Halloween, and also listen to what they have to say;
4- Click on the link "Symbols of Halloween" , and read about vampires, witches and pumpkins;
5- In your class, tell your friends and teacher again, what you learned about vampires, witches, and Jack O' Lantern;
6- Start writing the letter to Sara. You start the letter saying....
Dear Sara,
My name is......, and I want to help you. I have researched about Halloween, and I discovered that you don't have to be afraid because....
7- After you have written the letter to Sara, visit the link "Pictures" in the section "Resources", and choose a picture;
8- Then, print the chosen picture and color it;
9- Put your drawing and your letter together into an envelope;
10- Now, you can give your letter and drawing to you teacher, and he/she will send it to Sara, or if you prefer, you can send only your letter by e-mail to Sara.
